Peacefully with family by his side on April 20, 2014 in his 62nd year. Loving husband of 40 years to Marn. Much loved father to Mike (Ashley) and Carrie (Sean) and proud grandpa to Mae. Beloved son of Shirley and the late Milne Lawton and son-in-law of Bette and the late Bill Stanton. Dear brother of Bob, Rick (Lesia), the late Connie and the late Paul. Brother-in-law of Carol, Ted (Susie) and Tom (Francine). He will be dearly missed by hismany nieces, nephews and close friends. John was a devoted employee of the City of Hamilton, Water Works with 31 years of service. He was also the VP of the Classic GTO Club of Ontario. His family will receive friends for a memorial gathering at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 305 East 37th St. on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Cancer Assistance Program or to the SPCA would be appreciated by his family.
