John Poklecki

Passed away suddenly on December 28, 2017 at the age of 36. Loving son of Ivica and Nada Poklecki. Dearest older brother of Joey and Tommy. Dearest grandson of Zdenka and the late Petar Poklecki. Reunited with his beloved grandparents Josip and Franca Domjancic, and beloved uncle Josip Rak. Dearest nephew of Petar (Iva) Poklecki, Marko Poklecki, Marijana (Blago) Peric. Dearest godson of Stipe and Dragica Dosen. Remembered by many cousins, relatives, kumovi, and beloved friends in Canada and Croatia. Johnny was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved going hunting with his Dad. Johnny loved cooking for all his friends and family. Johnny loved his yearly trips to Croatia with his brother Joe and loved nothing more then being in his beloved Ceglji. John was the life of the party and loved singing songs from his beloved Hrvatska with his Dad, brothers, uncles, and friends. John was the first one everyone called when they needed help, he was the first one there and the last one to leave. John will be remembered as the great human being he was and everyone’s life is better because John was in it. Johnny was a longtime member of Croatian National Home and the Croatian Sports and Community Center of Hamilton (GMR). Visitation will be at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (near Kenilworth) on Monday January 1, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at 7:15 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Croatian Church on Tuesday January 2nd at 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donation to the Croatian National Building Fund, or the Croatian Sports and Community Center of Hamilton (GMR) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
