I was very saddened to learn of John's passing.  I will always remember John as a happy friend, with an ever presence of humor and a belly laugh.  My memories  of Johnny as I called him, go a long way back to each of our youths, 12th. Sea Scouts, Triple C basketball, and over the years those life reunions to engage in remembering the good old days.  I will miss Johnny a great deal.  He was always a joy to be with.  I wish to pass on my deepest sympathies to  Pat and all members of the family.  God bless.

As a coach then a friend, I'm not sure if they come any better.

I would pic him up  because Playing baseball with John was inspiring he always had so much fun and could hit the ball solidly even in his eighties . We would all gather at the bar after baseball and  he always had a toast.......... a few words  with meaning.and encouragemnt his passion was the canusa games his love was his wife

John and Pat Wade were long time neighbors to us across the street at 230 St. Clair Blvd.  John was a very nice guy with a great sense of humor (who was always laughing) and Pat was forever helpful with various projects with me for my Home Economics class.  I babysat Sue and Mike for years and they were great kids.
My deepest sympathy to you Pat,  and all your family for the loss of John...I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure to get to know John and his wife Pat at Pine Villa Care Centre. I am an employee here and had formed a special bond between them. One of my best memories of John is when myself and the Programs Department would go out for outing at various Restaurants in Hamilton. Him and his wife enjoyed doing that and it was always a pleasure to spend time with them outside of the home.  It has been a challenge during the pandemic, but John always had a positive attitude and loved dancing with his wife during our entertainment. He will be deeply missed by us here at Pine Villa Care Centre. May he Rest in Peace. 

I played basketball with John for over 50 years.  He was a lot of fun to be around.  I particularly enjoyed our conversations at the Pub following our weekly Old Timer Basketball games.  John had a lot of stories about Hamilton athletes and sports.  He will be missed.

My condolences to John's family.   I played pickup basketball with John at Westdale high school for a number of years.   I always enjoyed playing on John's team because he loved to shoot & I loved to pass.  It was a match made in basketball heaven.  Hope he's found a game up there already.

My Dad, Doug Harrison, knew him quite well from Canusa, and for a short time he lived 2 doors down from my best friend.  Whenever I was there I would see him and say Hello.

Dear Patti and family, our sincerest condolences to you. John was a great friend and truly will be missed. Many great memories working CANUSA games together. Some great memories are Rankins and CANUSA games Saturday night officials party along with the Games themselves. Always positive and he sure liked to dance. In our hearts and prayers love Dan and Lynn Berezny.

John was Mr. CANUSA but more importantly he was a gentle man. It was a privilege to work along side John over many years of CANUSA events and games. He and Patti were an integral part of the CANUSA Games family. May he rest in peace.
