Joe was born on April 18th, 1931 in White Sands, Prince Edward Island to Oliver and Olive (nee Turple). He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Frances (nee Strugnell). A retired Boiler Engineer for Domtar, Joe had many hobbies to occupy his time. Fishing, painting and woodworking were among his favorites.
He was a caring person with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by family members and friends. Joe leaves behind his beloved brother Melvyn, and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Ella, Annie, Hazel, Jeanetta, Norma and Rita Mae, and by brothers Sam, Oliver, and John.
Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E. (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, October 24th from 11-1pm. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm in the chapel. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
