

Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Marcel, and her parents, John and Kostunia Dydzak, her sister Pauline Kostuik and her brothers Johnny and Joseph Jr. She will be sadly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Marcel (Trish) and Roger (Maggie), grandchildren Laura (Daryl), Maggie (Pat), Claire, Marcel, Raymond (Christina), Matthew (Melissa), and David, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was especially close with her niece, Connie (Kostuik) Zaharchuk.
Joyce was active in the Hamilton business community and was elected the first female president of the Hamilton and District Chamber of Commerce. She was active in the arts communities of Hamilton. Joyce served on the executive committees of Theater Aquarius, Opera Hamilton, and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Nationally. Joyce also served on the National Design Council of Canada and as a Director of the CBC.
Joyce was a member of two Rotary Clubs for 20 years and was a Paul Harris recipient. She was honoured with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee award in 2012.
A fierce friend, there were many that Joyce counted as her friends. Too many to list, but special mention to ‘The Thongs’ and the ‘Unholy Five’.
Her family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Regina Mundi Catholic Church, 631 Mohawk Rd. W. on Friday, June 23rd at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
