Katherine Barrett

With deep regret and sorrow we are sad to announce the passing of Katherine, beloved wife and best friend of the late Albert, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on June 7, 2012. Dearly beloved mother of Beverley and her husband Peter McDonald, Albert and his wife Mary Ann, Bill and Karen. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Jeffrey, Matthew, Daniel and Nicole. Greatly missed by her sister Mary, sister in law Alice, best friends Marj and Brian as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Bill, John, Jean and George. Katherine was an avid athlete who had a love for many sports. She showed this in her volunteer work within the school system, in the classroom and as a coach. She will be deeply missed by her furry friend Barbet. Respected for her courage, desire for life and love of friends and family, she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Special thanks to Dr.K.Walker for 18 years of care and compassion. Also to Dr. L. Famorca, Dr. A. Cividino as well as Dr. D. Cook and her team at St. Joseph's Hospital ICU for their empathetic care. Visitation will be held at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL 1309 King Street East (at the Delta, opposite Gage Park) on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Katherine's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vasculitis Foundation of Canada or Hamilton Health Sciences would be appreciated.
