It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen Julardija surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke in her 80th year.
Beloved wife for 56 years to husband Peter and loving mother to her daughter Nancy.
Kathleen was born January 5, 1943 in Pont-Lafrance, New Brunswick to Fred and Jeanne Breau (nee Brideau). She was affectionately nicknamed by her father and known to her siblings as “Gallyn”. Kathleen is predeceased by her brothers and sisters Marie, Jeanette (predeceased brother-in-law John Labrie), Vincent (Margaret Smith Breau), Venance, Gertrude (predeceased brother-in-law Raymond), Yvon (Ivan) and Ruby. Kathleen is survived by her brother and sisters Theodore (Ted), Yvonne (predeceased brother-in-law Albert Labbe), Solomon (sister-in-law Susan Wallwork), Anida (brother-in-law John Zchowicz) and Juliette (predeceased brother-in-law Jerry Noel). Kathleen leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she adored each and everyone of them. Although Kathleen and Peter did not have any grandchildren, Zara their niece who they helped raise and took with them on vacations was special in their hearts and just like a granddaughter to them. Zara affectionately called her “Kaki” from the time she was a baby.
Kathleen moved to Hamilton, Ontario in 1960 with her sister Yvonne where she ended up meeting the love of her life Peter at a dance. They married in 1966 and remained in Hamilton, where they raised their only daughter Nancy. Although Hamilton was her home for most of her life, she always had a special place in her heart for New Brunswick and her Acadian (Acadienne) roots!
Kathleen loved her family, travel, animals, music, reading, black and white movies, bingo but especially loved spending time with her family. She was always smiling and simply loved life! She was the eternal optimist, always providing encouraging words of wisdom!
Thank you to all the personnel at St. Peter’s Residence especially to all the nurses, PSW’s and housekeeping personnel on the Fir Unit who showed kindness and compassion in providing my mom the best care to allow her to be able to live with dignity. Sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Mila, Maria, Anna, Wilma, Tammy, Tara, Nelly, Paul, Arin, Sonal, Teresa and Queen for all the care they provided my mom.
