Peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love of his family at The Village of Wentworth Heights, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Giacinta for 66 wonderful years. Loving father of Julia Fortino (Michael), Carmine (Sara), and Marco (Linda). Proud Nonno of Cassandra, Alicia, Robert, Sabrina, Gina, Lianna (Garrett), Anthony, Cara, Cristina, and Laryssa. Predeceased by his parents Carmine and Giulietta. Brother of Adelina (the late Lorenzo), the late Tony (the late Cleonice), Pasquale (Antonina), Angelina (Joe), and Mario (Sandy). Liberatore will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family in Canada and the U.S.A. During his career and after his retirement from Stelco, he enjoyed participating in the Pacentro Club where he served as President for many years, he served on the Executive Committee of the Alpini Club and was also a member of the Abruzzo Club. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Village of Wentworth Heights for the excellent care that was provided. A loving husband, father and Nonno, he will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Visitation at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home , 1774 King Street East on Friday from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 8:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church, 232 Queenston Road (at Parkdale) on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
