I was saddened to hear that my mentor and friend had passed.  It was largely his words that led me to find my faith and I will always treasure his memory for that--  he was a good friend, a wise teacher and above all, a very good man.  Thinking of the family ...

So sorry to hear of your loss.  Uncle Lorne and Aunt Joy always held a special place in my heart.  
Will miss Uncle Lorne's teasing.  I am sure he is enjoying his heavenly conversation with my dad, Uncle Jack.

My Father
Heavens Gain
Yesterday just before noon my father was promoted to his eternal reward. My father lived a life worthy to be called a disciple of Christ.
On a cold winter Sunday night in 1969 sensing the spirit was drawing me, my father walked with me down the long Isle to the altar at Central Gospel Temple in Hamilton, Ontario where I received Jesus as my Saviour as a 7-year-old boy.
He taught me a faithful work ethic through his long hours of labouring to provide for his family.
He taught me how to put Jesus first by demonstrating integrity and Godly Character and was honest to a fault.
My father was a peacemaker as he was often able to bring two opposing views together and stearin clear of tension and conflict. Of course never violating the the word of God
He taught me how to tithe and give sacrificially to the work of the Lord.
He taught me how to yield to the voice of God by sacrificing his prime years with my mom on the mission field, both in Zimbabwe and Zambia
He taught me to love faithfully, and unselfishly through his care for my dear mother in the most difficult years when she was battling with Alzheimer's.
He taught me how to worship God and to love the hymns
Some called him “the walking hymn book” Often we would sing at home or pass the time while travelling singing the songs of Zion.
I will miss my father for a short while, his humor and continuous prayer for our ministry but I’m confident we will be right behind him and will be united again on that beautiful morning inside eternities gates where we shall see Jesus face to face.
