Born February 14 1925, passed away peacefully at her residence in Halton Hills January 10 2021. Her sense of humour, thankfulness, charm and love for family and friends stayed with her to the end.

No matter the job; (Bell telephone, McLeod Motors, board of directors for the Association for Community Living, homemaker and baker extraordinaire or Blue Jays fan) she did it all with enthusiasm and optimism. She did have heartbreaks and challenges in life but her acceptance and resilience was amazing. She always said how lucky she was. She joins her late husband Frank, son Stephen, daughter Kirby and so many more family and friends. I’m sure heaven has a packed yellow school bus waiting for their driver and new adventures. She leaves behind her daughter Sheelagh, her grandchildren Stephen and Shelby, her adopted family Lulu and Louie, her baby brother Jay and sisters-in-law Lorraine and Irene, plus many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. To know her was to love and admire her. The “ Old Grey Mare” has gone on to greener pastures. She was my hero and her light shines on. Celebration of Life will take place in the summer. Donations to the Association for Community Living would be her wish.

Sheelagh and family:
So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. My mom, Alice Rainbow still reminisces about running in and out of the Wallace house on Hamilton/Cliff Avenues. "Wally" was her best friend throughout their childhood and she missed her when she moved from the Hamilton area as they had reconnected and enjoyed meeting for lunches and remembering old times.
Cherish the years of wonderful memories that you had with your mom.
Thinking of you and sending you our love, Alice Rainbow & family

Dear Sheelagh,
I am so sorry for your loss. I recall your mom just like her photo - always beautiful and smiling. It seems like forever ago that we last met at St. Ola. Summer in the sun at the cottage - so much fun! And, of course, our school days on the bus which precipitated you and your mom's visit to our farm to see the horses which was only a pony or maybe a few goats.
Thank you to Laurel for sharing.
My thoughts are with you and your family. May your many lovely memories of your mom bring comfort to you.
hugs, Patty

Dear Sheelagh, Stephen & Shelby
Our thoughts and prayers are with you! You all have been her rock during these last few years! A smiling face, no matter what, I will always remember! We will miss your happy, smiling outlook on life, but we know you are happy with the whole family now! We Love and Miss you greatly! May peace be with you all knowing where your dear Mom, Grandma and Aunt is now. I got a message from an old colleague...Her memory of Marian, as Marian was her school bus driver. She said "she had the most beautiful smile. "Good morning, how are we today."... I loved how she dressed up as a clown for Halloween!"
Much Love, Cousin Karen, Jason, Uncle Jack & Family.... XO

Marian was a great lady - kind, caring and loving.
I had the privilege of meeting her at Community Living Hamilton. Marian, was a long time supporter, volunteer and member who gave so freely to others.
For years, Marian and the Women's Auxiliary (later known as the "old gals") helped raise thousands of dollars for the Association. Monies raised were to help furnish programs. If we ever needed anything, we could count on her.
Thank you for all that you did. Marian, you can now rest in peace.

Hi Sheelagh,
So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother. I have fond memories of her driving our school bus. She was always a cheerful face in the mornings. Not only was she our driver, but also a neighbour and friend to the family. We go back many years...a lifetime in fact!
It was nice to see you at the high school reunion several years ago.
May God be with you in the days ahead.
Laurel Chapman
Ps. I will pass the news on to my family, Patti Ionson....and Ruth Nelson.

To Sheelagh & family

I was saddened to read about your Mom; I have good memories of her.
My mother, Jean (Gowman) Spring and your Mom had been friends since before their “Bell” days.
I remember when the Gabby Cats used to get together; my Mom so looked forward to seeing her friends. Marion always brought out the best in my Mom.
Your mother always had a smile and a wonderful positive outlook, no matter
what life threw at her.
I’m sorry my Mom lost touch with her; she passed Sept. 2019.
Take care
Wendy Spring
