Is now resting in God’s loving hands. Went peacefully to sleep on November 5th, 2017 in her 79th year. Beloved daughter of Harry and Muriel Denike (deceased). Dear sister of the late Donald Denike, Helen St. Denis and Leona Couch and their families. Better known to her nieces and nephews as Aunt Marnie, she will be sadly missed by all three generations of them. Will also be fondly remembered by many other family members, friends and co-workers. As an active member of the community, Marilyn dedicated her life to serving others. Beginning in her early years as a pediatric nurse to her 65 years of service to Girl Guides of Canada she selflessly gave everything she had to others. She travelled the world in search of knowledge and in return left her mark on every country and everyone she came into contact with. She will be remembered as kind, fun, and determined by many people world wide. A service will be held on November 18th, 2017 at Elliott Height Baptist Church (1300 Fennell Avenue East) at 12:00 pm to celebrate her life. Many thanks to Idlewylde Manor, Juravinski Hospital and the staff of Truscott, Brown & Dwyer Funeral Chapel for their help and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association and Heart & Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
