Marlene Fern Rumpel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marlene on June 4, 2016 in her 84th year at Brantford General Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edward and cherished mother of Cameron (Melissa) and Troy (Sharon). Proud and loving grandmother of Christopher, Mitchell, Brittany, Brayden and Brett. Marlene will also be sadly missed by her cousins Cheryl (Rob), Bonnie (Ron) and their children Tanya and Ryan and close family friend Linda. Marlene was a professional dancer from a young age and eventually carried on her passion by operating the Marlene Robertson Dance Studio on Hamilton Mountain for over 25 years. She helped inspire many children and young adults to enjoy the pleasures of modern dance and acrobatics. Marlene helped organize and participated in all of the Hamilton Civic and Santa Claus Parades with her majorette squad. The family wishes to thank all the Physicians, Nurses and workers of the hospitals and organizations involved with Marlene's care. Special thanks to Juravinski Cancer Centre, Brantford General Hospital Palliative Care Ward and Season's Bell Lane Retirement Home. All of you allowed our Mom to travel this road with the best of care and all her dignity. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Tuesday, June 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 8th at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the S.P.C.A.
