Mrs. Mary Bernacki (née Bizior) passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Willowgrove LTC, just weeks after celebrating her 103rd birthday. Her family is deeply thankful for the kind and attentive care provided by the staff at Willowgrove.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Lucian Bernacki (1999). She was a devoted mother to Al (Jane), Liz Trigatti (Deris), and Chris Bernacki (George Burns). A cherished Babcia (grandmother), she will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Mercedes (Gord), Siobhan, the late Michael, the late Shanna, Alisha (Josh), and Kevin (Caroline), and as a proud great-grandmother to Brynlee. She also leaves behind her niece Diane (Al), and nephews Rich and Henry.
Born in Poland, Mary immigrated to Canada in 1949 with her husband and son. She had a strong love for sewing and crocheting, and a deep passion for Polish cooking, especially her homemade soups, pierogies, and cabbage rolls. Her warmth, resilience, and the traditions she carried with her will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. If so desired, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Ontario branch) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
