Her passing may have left us feeling sorrowful, but we can take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and soulmate, John (2005).
Mom will forever be in the hearts of her children, John (Carol) and Linda (Dave), whom she loved deeply, and her grandchildren, Kyle and Cole, who filled her heart with immense joy and pride.
She will also be sadly missed by many relatives and friends in Canada, United States, and Croatia.
Mom was incredibly talented. She could cook, bake, sew and garden like a professional. She loved to entertain and hosted many parties that ended in the early morning hours. Her laugh was contagious, and her smile would brighten any room.
She worked at the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre for several years, a job she enjoyed until her retirement, but her greatest joy in life revolved around her family. She was her happiest when family was gathered at her dinner table to share one of her multi-course feasts.
She was devoted to her children, John and Linda, and for them she would move mountains. She cherished her daughter-in-law, Carol, and son-in-law, Dave, and treated them as her own.
She was especially proud of her grandchildren and celebrated their every achievement. She hosted “sleepovers” for her grandsons, dogs included, when no sleeping or rules were allowed: “what happens at grandmas, stays at grandmas”.
Mom will always be remembered for her smile, strength, kindness and warmth.
A special thank you to Hampton Terrace for the care and compassion shown to mom in her final years and to Barbara Frankovich, a friend like no other.
