

MONTELPARE, Mary (nee Cahill) After a long and heroic battle with Alzheimer's, Mary peacefully passed away at Arbor Creek Longterm Care facility in Hamilton on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Born in Kensington, P.E.I on January 13, 1930, Mary was raised in Summerside with her brother Larry and her two sisters, Florence (Tootsie) and Ella before moving to Hamilton, where she met and married Dario, her husband of 56 years. Her spirit carries on through her daughter, Phyllis (Ed), sons John (Donna), Billy (Nancy), Frank (Cristina) and Ronny (Heather), and grand- children Carolyn, Krista, Matthew, Erin, Katie, David, Sonya, Manuela, Jackson and Brianna. A long standing member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada, Mary found comfort in her faith and was very committed to her parish at St. Eugene's, holding many executive offices from 1967-1974, including President of the Hamilton Diocese. Mary played an active part in her parish until her illness. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Arbor Creek for their loving care. (As per Mary's wishes, her body has been donated to science.) For a celebration of Mary's life and commitment to her faith, please join the family at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Prayer Vigil will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene's Church on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. In Mary's memory, please consider a gift to the Alzheimer Association or a charity of your choice.
