Mary Eva Whitty

Born in Chatham (Miramichi) New Brunswick, March 6, 1924. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 19, 2011 at Macassa Lodge in her 88th year. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and Florine (Richard) Doucette. She was predeceased by her husband Frank (January 23, 1986), her son Gary (May 28, 2009), two brothers Gelose, Freddy (Esther) Doucette, three sisters, Theresa Doucette, Dora Doucette and Florence (Don) Turbitt. Cherished mother of Paul, Ann Marie Sullivan (Tony Walsh), Don (Sandra) and Joan Jones (Harold). Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Missed by her two sisters Cecilia (Jean Paul) Bard of Hamilton and Rena Doucette RHSJ Miramichi New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews. Eva was an employee of St. Joseph’s Hospital of more than 20 years and more recently a resident of Macassa Lodge. A long healthy drug free life, she enjoyed her walks to bingo with “B10”, playing cards with family and friends and will always be remembered for living up to her name “Whitty”. Many thanks go out to all of the staff and volunteers who have played and worked with her for the past seven and a half years. Family will receive friends at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME (322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton) on Sunday October, 23rd from 2-4and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, October 24th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
