It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maryann Hrastovčak (Setej) at the age of 55. Maryann was known for her strong work ethic and kind heart, and considered her proudest achievement to be raising her two children, Maya and Karlo. She will be remembered as not only a mother but a devoted wife to Dražen, cherished daughter to Ankica (nee Šiljevinac) and Rudy Setej and dear sister to John (Aldona). Her heart was also full of love for her aunt, uncle and cousins of the Šiljevinac family and her chosen family, Christine Samac and her family. She was a dedicated employee of Hamilton Health Sciences for 35 years. Her love touched all of us, and her devotion was the heart of our family.
Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Sunday, January 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East on Monday, January 5 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
