After a brief illness, Muriel passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on June 29, 2014 in her 77th year. Fondly remembered by sons David and Paul Wolanski and their father Steven and daughter-in-law Kim Wolanski. Loving grandmother to Lindsay and Sydney Wolanski. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Jean Edwards and sister, Betty Book. Cherished aunt to Debbie, Cindy and Philip and their children and cousins Donna Gill, Harold Beaumont, Janet Landry and other cousins. Muriel was a Registered Nurse who continued to act as a caregiver after her retirement in 2002. Family and friends were exceptionally proud that Muriel received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University in June 2013. Muriel will be sadly missed by her close community of friends, notably Phyllis, Doreen, Heather, Carole, Audrey, Joanne, Joyce, Leanne and Dallas and by many others both within the Mount Hamilton Baptist Church and those touched by her boundless enthusiasm in other volunteer efforts. Muriel lived life to the fullest and left the world a much better place. God welcomes a spunky, effervescent angel into his midst. Visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at Mount Hamilton Baptist Church, 626 Upper Wentworth Street on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Internment will occur at a later date. As Muriel participated in international missions work in Central America and Africa, which were so dear to her heart, we ask that donations be made to the Mount Hamilton Baptist Church to support local and international missions, in lieu of flowers.
