Olga Palyga

It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Olga Palyga on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Predeceased by her husband Stanley (Ostap) and three siblings. Loving mother to Lesia Biljetina and her husband Mike, and Mary Zyla and her husband Syd. Loving grandmother “Baba” to Michael, Natasha, Natalie, Dave (Meredith) and Paul (Maggie), and great-grandmother to Elliott. We would love to thank the staff at R.V.H. for their care, especially Dr. Lopez. Olga was a remarkable, hard working and devoted mother. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She was well known in the Ukrainian community for her exceptional embroidery and volunteer work in the church kitchen. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME (322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton) on Sunday, February 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30. Funeral Mass will take place at Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection (821 Upper Wentworth, Hamilton) on Monday, February 6th at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.
