

Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital, on June 21, 2011, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Vera for 63 years. Loving father of Calvin, Carolanne (John) Malec, Cheryl Lynn (Eric) Sapatka, Martin (Terry), Linda (Rick) Ernst and Clark (Diana). Very dear Grandpa of Cale (Erin), Sherry (Warren), Jeremy (Andrea), Samantha, Eric (Jessica), Bonnie Lynn, Krista-Lee (John), Andrew, Byron, Wesley, Chad (Katie) and Corrina. Proud Great-Grandpa of Taylor, Mason, Margaret, Catherine, Deakin, Adasynn, Talieea and Sienna. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews. Oren was born on St. Joe’s Island, as one of thirteen children born to Ethel and Elmer, who were United Empire Loyalists. At the age of 19, Oren joined the Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed at Brantford, Camp Borden and Vernon B.C. before proudly serving in WWII. Oren also served as a minister with the New Apostolic Church for 46 years before retiring. The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses (Angels on Earth) of the Juravinski Ctr. E3, for their compassionate care, as well as Darren, Tina, Val and Ally. Your kindness will be remembered always. The family will receive friends at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 615 Main St. E, one block east of Sanford, on Friday June 24, 2011 from 2-5 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Oren’s life will be held at the New Apostolic Church, 922 Upper Sherman Ave., on Saturday June 25, 2011 at 11am. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy donations to the New Apostolic Youth Fund would be appreciated.
