Recently heard of Ralph's passing, and wanted you to know that our prayers and thoughts are with you.  We appreciated Ralph's respect and love for Rev Cathy over the years...he was a gem! We offer our sincere condolences with the passing away of Ralph.
We only heard about it last night from Tinie Oosterhof.
Sorry that we won't be able to attend the funeral service.

So glad we got to know Ralph better in the last couple months...an unexpected opportunity that allowed us to know him briefly but deeply. Grateful for some warm memories we'll carry forward of someone who struck us as authentic and caring. We know he'll be greatly missed by his family and friends and we send our condolences and hope for some comfort in the midst of the grief.

I was a teenager of 16 years when Ralph became my step-father. Alison & Julie were adorable little girls who then became my sisters. We have shared so many memories over the years, but a few to share are; The messy Volvo Ralph drove that the girls cleaned up for him to take my mom on a date, our Sunday brunches at the Sheraton (dessert first!) and Swiss Chalet (when it still looked Swiss) and many Thanksgivings spent at the Rockton fair before our feasts. I can still picture Ralph covered in sawdust with his trademark pencil on his ear and jean cut-offs. I was inspired by his amazing craftsmanship even though our house never seemed to be done. 
I  am sorry Ralph had to leave so soon and send my love to all of the Vyn family. I have held you all in my heart & missed you. I am so proud of  you, Alison & Julie, for your strength and support given to each other, and that you have your wonderful mom, husbands and families for support.

my condolences to the VYN family.Ralph was my trade insructer at Mohawk approx 27 years ago and because of him i still a carpenter today.He was great.R.I.P.

My deepest sympathies. Ralph was one of a kind, and he will be greatly missed.

I met Ralph first when we were moving across from him around 1996 in Westdale and he helped us with our kitchen (as he helped so many others.) I count him as one of my closest friends over the years. I remember his artistry with wood and wise teaching when involved in projects. I remember skiing in the woods with him and admiring his motorcycles even when they were spread over the living room. Above all he was a friend who listened and cared. My thoughts are with Cathy and Ralph's family.

I am so sorry to learn of Ralph's death. Although I did not know him,I know that he was much loved and will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to Cathy and to Ralph's family and friends.
