

Ross passed away peacefully at home at the age of 93 years, with his family by his side, on Thursday May 30, 2013. Predeceased by his loving wife Mabel (nee Broughton) 1993, a son Ross Jr. (1944), and his parents Nettie and Stanley. Loving father of Joanne Weeks, George Wilson (Anita) and Janet Russello (Chuck). Loving grandfather to Jennifer Granatier & Cliff Windsor, Daryl & Shellie Wilson, Anthony & Pinky Russello and Stefanie & Kevin Moffett. Dear great-grandfather of Kennedy Windsor, Alexis Wilson, Ethan Chen-Russello, Leah Russello & Kyle Moffett. Cousin of Doris (Weaver) Montgomery. Loving brother-in-law to Lloyd & Lois Browett and Edna Broughton and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ross proudly served with the 434 Squadron in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Darlington-Croft, England during WWII as a navigator on the Halifax and Lancaster bomber. He worked for Stelco for over 30 years and was Chief Surveyor on the construction of Stelco Lake Erie Works, Nanticoke. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion and member of the Masonic Lodge. Ross volunteered with Glanbrook Home Support and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Ross was a recent recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. Ross’ passions were gardening, travelling, carving and cooking – Life in General. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Sunday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 3rd at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment to follow in Trinity Church Cemetery, Hwy #53 and Trinity Church Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to Glanbrook Home Support Programme or Cancer Assistance Program.
