Suddenly on Friday March 9, 2012 in his 84th year, at the Hamilton General Hospital our family sadly announces the passing of Ron. Loving and devoted husband for 59 years to Doreen, father to Paul (Baneza), Craig (Nina) and loving grandpa to Brandon and Cal. Predeceased by his father Edward, mother Clara and brothers Walt and Harold. Born in Lancashire, England, Ron's early life surrounded motorcycles and music, receiving a study scholarship to the London Youth Orchestra, only for it to make way to serve in the R.A.F. from 1945-47, where he was stationed in India. Beginning a new life with Doreen by emigrating to Canada in 1957, he made a career as a quality control inspector at International Harvester (J.I. Case) from 1959-1991. Retirement centred around travelling, reading, a love of jazz, the Maple Leafs, Ti-Cats, and researching homeopathic medicine. Always putting his family first, Ron exampled in every manner as a devoted husband, 'Dad' and 'Grandpa'. For everyone he called a friend, met or knew throughout his life his sense of humour and wit were always present. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family everyday. Cremation has taken place. Please join us Wednesday March 14, 7 - 9 pm for a Memorial Visitation at Crestmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennel Ave. E. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Naturopathic Foundation (CNF) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
