It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother to the Lancaster Family. Rosalie passed away surrounded by the love of her family in her 95th year.
Cherished wife of the late Douglas Lancaster (1984). Loving mother to Dr. Bobbi (Lucy), Ron (Dr. Shelly Sender), Sandra and Ken (Deborah).
Adored Grandma to Jennifer Lancaster, Laura (Russ Ergood) Lancaster-Ergood, Jeff Lancaster, Andrea Allemang, Drew (Julia Karpiuk) Allemang, Matt Allemang, Kara Hannah, Michael Lancaster, Cameron (Emily) Lancaster and Christopher (Jordan Spencer) Lancaster. Great Grandmother to Jacqueline Ergood, Russ Ergood Jr. and Arlo Lancaster. Aunt Rose will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was predeceased by her parents, Alphy and Anna Robert, her sister Jane Doyle and brother Gerald Robert. She is survived by her sister Rita King and sisters-in-law Marlene Huff and Jessie Robert.
Rosalie was born in Chatham, Ontario and grew up in Pain Court, Ontario, a small French farm community. She married Douglas in 1948. Mom’s greatest treasures in life were her four children and her Catholic faith. Her love and support of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was immense. Mom leaves behind lasting memories that will be treasured in the hearts of her family members forever.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome on May 27, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish at 620 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, Ontario for visitation at 11:00 am, the Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm and a Celebration of Life and luncheon in the Parish Hall at 1:00 pm. You are welcome to attend any or all of the above.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the charities Rosalie supported: St. Catherine of Siena Parish, the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton or the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton; or to a charity of your choice.
Special thank you to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their compassionate and supportive care. The tenderness and sensitivity you showed Rosalie at the end of her life is something we will never forget. Thank you for the comfort you gave Rosalie, as well as the wonderful insights, knowledge, and emotional support you showed our entire family.
