She was predeceased by her son, Jeremiah (2017); her sisters, Mary (Rene), Gertrude (Jim), and Anna; and her parents, Edward Faddies and Gertrude Picard. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary, and her two sons, Benjamin and Matthew. She was a proud grandmother to Kayla. Rose is also survived by her brothers, Edward (Teodozja “Teddy”) and Joseph; her brother-in-law, Cliff; and many nieces and nephews.
Though small in stature, Rose had a tremendous heart and a mighty personality, reflected in a life defined by her caring and generous nature. She gave selflessly to her community, volunteering with organizations such as the Girl Guides, Scouts Canada, and Special Olympics Canada (bowling). She worked as a nurse, served with St. John Ambulance, and was a foster parent to many children.
Rose was also an entrepreneur, running her own kennel where she bred and groomed dogs. She enjoyed horseback riding and showing, earning a blue ribbon. She had a lifelong passion for crafting, including needlepoint, sewing, knitting, and crocheting, making everything from 1990s dinosaur and Tiger-Cats hats to blankets and countless other handmade gifts. She enjoyed bowling in her league and found joy in line dancing, tap dancing, and many other activities with friends at the Sackville Hill Seniors Recreation Centre. She also loved to travel and was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL).
The family would like to thank Dr. Ramadyal and the excellent staff at Emmanuel House, as well as all family and friends who offered support during this difficult time.
