Dear Leah, Scott, Sean and Dave and your families; my deepest condolences. I've only met Ross a few times, but by getting to know him through my Mum's (Margaret's) eyes, and hearing how loved, gifted and generous he was at the Celebration of Life, I know that a very bright light has gone out. He truly was a gem, a treasure that brightened Mum's world and meant so much to so many. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for the ways he loved, cared for and brought joy to Mum. And I have no doubt that the beautiful gifts Ross shared are within each of you. May you carry his light through your lives and find joy in those gifts.

My heartfelt condolences to the family.  I grew up on Bruce Park Drive and the Park was our meeting ground.  All of us used the park so much and all of us attended the same schools.  We all were friends and still are.  It has always been great when we meet up and see each other.  Time seems to stand still and we are back in what we called our good old days.  
Both your Mom and Dad were good friends.

Ross will be missed by many who were lucky enough to call him friend.  What a special person.  RIP

Our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Ross's family at this difficult time. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you all. 

I have fond memories of Ross from our times together on the ice. 
I was fortunate to play hockey with Ross (aka Potsy aka Roscoe) in the late 60's and 70's. Ross was a fearless competitor. He was the kind of guy you wanted on your team. You could always count on Ross. He always came to play and always gave it his all. Not large in stature but  huge on the ice - fighting for the puck, diving to block shots, clearing the net, and punishing opponents with his body checks. I will never forget his toughness, tenacity and spirit. 

In more recent times it was really great to reconnect with Ross. Ross brought his wisdom, wit, and pragmatic "down-to-earth" nature to our gang gatherings at Tims and Inch Park . His common sense and honesty will be irreplaceable. 

Though Ross will be missed he will never be forgotten. 
Rest In Peace old friend until we meet again.

Where did the past 41/2 years go? Time flies when you are  having a good time!
I am missing your daily phone calls, texts, your surprise visits,  your great smile and always your care for my wellbeing.
You were always great at planning daytrips to places I had not seen before. No busy highway for you! Back roads, beautiful scenery and the wind blowing through our hair!
We had hoped to do more travelling, see more concerts, live theatre and lots of sports games together but that was not meant to be!

Worked with Ross in my early years at Stelco. My condolences

When the Thompsons moved into the house on East 7th in 1955,we were welcomed by the kid living behind us.that was Ross.he has been a part of our family ever since. Holidays, and family outings  and meeting up after ball games,he was always with us.  He will be missed by our entire family, especially our brother John who was forever best friends with Ross. Rest easy and say hi to Sue who was totally loved by all.

Dearest Margaret and Ross’s family, it is with deep sympathy that we write this condolences.  We met Ross over an homemade  dinner, liked him immediately and had a few Facebook messages since that time.  Always enjoyed hearing about the events that Ross and Margaret attended, places they visited, a few pictures and walks around town.  He spoke highly of his family and his beloved deceased wife. My deepest condolences to Ross' family, his partner, Margaret, and to all his  friends and teammates in all the sports in which he competed and, simply excelled at, with quiet determination and sportsmanship. He was my best childhood friend during our time together on East 6th Street across from Bruce Park where we spent most of our time playing sports when not in school.  In pick up games Ross was ALWAYS the first pick.  And, his team ALWAYS won. 
Growing up as next door neighbours, I witnessed first hand, Ross' transformation to the exceptional man he became: a family man first and foremost, but also, a kind and considerate friend to so many.  One of a kind, is simply, an understatement.  He made his mark with an oversized footprint and, will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
