Russell Gordon Brown

Passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the age of 81. Loving husband of Shirley for 58 years. Beloved father of Tammy Gregory (husband John LeBlanc) who will miss him dearly, and the late Brenda Brown. Also predeceased by brothers Donald (Marlene) Brown and Roy Brown, and sister Doreen (Bill) McLean. Survived by sister-in-law Elsie Brown. He leaves to mourn his loss his favourite granddaughter Loreen Gregory and favourite grandson Russell Brown. Russell served in the Korean War with the R.C.R. 2nd Battalion. He was also a member of Buchanan Lodge No. 550 G.R.C., a member of the colour party through the Legion Branch #58, and a member of the Rameses Schriners International. Russell worked 30 years at Dofasco as a crane operator. He will be sadly missed by Donna Cook and Dan Forest. Russell was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all. Friends and family will be received on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME – FENNELL CHAPEL (905-387-2111), 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton. A Masonic service will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
