

Peacefully passed away on June 3, 2015 at Macassa Lodge Hamilton, in her 96th year. Ruth Eacott was born in east Hamilton on May 27, 1920 the youngest daughter of the late Alfred Eacott and Ellen Cunnell. She married the late Norman Burrow at Calvary United Church, Hamilton in 1943.
Ruth was the loving and caring mother of Bob Burrow and his wife Heather; and beloved grandmother of Beth Burrow, Ellen Burrow, Carolyn Halliday (Andrew Halliday), Loren Howes-Jones (Jason Barwegen), Drew Howes-Jones; and great grandma to Nora; aunt of Gary Eacott and his wife Heather. Ruth is also remembered by her son-in-law Al Schmidt and his wife Julia.
Besides her husband, Ruth was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Schmidt; her sister Edith Vickers and brother-in-law William; her brother Alfred Eacott and sister-in-law Audrey; and nephew John Eacott.
Ruth lived in the east end of Hamilton her entire life, attending Memorial Public School and Hamilton Technical Institute . She was a faithful member of Calvary United Church, Coronation Baptist Church and Pioneer Memorial United Church. In her retirement years, she was a member of the Ottawa Street YWCA Seniors, enjoying many hours of square dancing at the Y. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Service at Pioneer Memorial United Church, 1974 King Street East, on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11 a.m.
