Loving wife, mother and homemaker died at home peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 following a courageous battle with colon cancer and leukemia. Pre- deceased by her loving husband Hugh and son Hughie. Dear sweet mother of Kelly Anne, Maureen, Patti, Mary Ruth, Alex and Quinn and by her son-in-law Tim Chachere. Grandmother of Alexandra and Dustin, Yockey, Marc, Alanna and Hugh. Relative and friend of Judy Rix and family, Doris Gail and Johnny Katerenchuk and family, Marvin and Gloria Wasserman and family. Ruthie was a devoted, founding member of Regina Mundi Parish and she was a very dedicated 50 year member of the Catholic Women's League. In her earlier years, Ruth was an active community worker, for her church, children's school, and many charitable foundations. Ruth had a special gift for connecting with people: young, old, familiar and new. Her energy was immense and everyone appreciated it and benefited from it. Ruthie always had a story and always had an open ear and heart. She will be sorely missed. She will always be remembered for her strength and love. Special thanks to Judy Rix, Gerry Smith and Sue Hamilton. You were there when she needed you and loved you. We would love to acknowledge the loving care and support that our sister Kelly Anne gave our mother over the past few years. Kelly, we salute you.
