With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of our beloved Sophie. Sophie (nee Dutko) passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on August 21, 2017 in her 96th year. Loving wife of the late Ivan John Drozd. Dear mother of Walter Bohdan (Ljubica), Zenek (Kathy), Odarka Dorothy Pidsadny (Bill), Irene (Al) and Oksana Sandra Trombetta (Liberatore). Cherished Baba of Taras, Tasha, Luca and Chiara. Prau Baba of Zevin, Quinten, Trina, Dane and Nova. Sophie was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada in 1948 to provide a better life for her family. Friends may call at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East Hamilton (at Kenilworth) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Panachyda 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. NICHOLAS UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 260 Melvin Avenue, on Saturday August 26, 2017 at 9 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
