Stella Anne Zahodnik

Peacefully passed into God’s hands on October 22, 2017 at Macassa Lodge in her 101st year. Raised in Sandy Lake, Manitoba, Stella settled in Hamilton where she raised 4 daughters on her own, setting an amazing example of what it is to be responsible, independent and strong. She dedicated her life to her family and her Catholic faith. Stella will be deeply missed by her loving family; daughters Shirley Robertson, Patricia Travis (Bruce), Joyce McGowan (Mike), and Ellen Hodson (Tom); Grandchildren; Randy Travis, Denise Metz (Mark) Hilary Robertson, Ian Robertson (Marianne), Jeremy Bruin (Melinda), Jessica Bruin (Shawn) and Grant Hodson (Brianne). She also leaves behind twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Stella worked at McMaster Hospital where she continued to volunteer for many years after her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, and travel. We wish to thank the staff at Macassa Lodge for their compassionate care of our mother. Stella is the last of her generation and we know she is now welcomed by all of her predeceased loved ones to her place in heaven. Rest in peace mom; love you forever! A visitation will be held at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton on Thursday October 26, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Parish on Friday October 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. with interment following in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
