On the afternoon of January 28th, 2026, the weather broke just long enough for Steve to hitch a ride out on the west wind ripping through the snowy streets of Hamilton. Having always said to “keep an eye on all the exits,” he found his.
Steve “Raspy” Robinson (October 17th, 1963) counted 62 summers, as many birthdays, and god-knows how many friends. He was loved by all who knew him, from his early days on Brentwood Drive with his siblings (Diane, John, Phil, Lyndy, Debbie, and Paul) through his stay at St. Peter’s Hospital, where he quickly won over the incredible staff who interacted with him on a daily basis - their care has been invaluable.
Often outdoors, and always up to something, he imparted onto his children (Emily and Jesse Robinson) his deep respect and appreciation of nature, his sense of duty, and his compassion for his fellow man. Ol’ Brody dog - ever the favourite child - needed no such instruction, and continues to be a pillar of strength in this difficult time.
He never wanted to be fenced in by anything, and so he’s not. He told us to have a laugh and not dwell on it, and so we’re trying.
Those who find themselves inclined and able are asked to make a donation to ALS funding/research. An open-invite celebration of life will be held at a later date and details will be available on Cresmount Funeral Home's obituary page.
