Predeceased by her parents Jessie (nee Prosser) and Gerald. Dearly loved sister of the late Irma Whittaker (Brad, remarried to Cindy), Jack (the late Sonya), Jim (the late Sharon) and Karen Brun (Gaspare). Beloved aunt of Barbara (Paul), Stephen (Stacey), Paul (Barbara), Lynne (Tim), Craig (Amanda), Jason (Tania), Christopher (Naomi) and Neil (Wendy). She leaves behind her 12 great-nieces and nephews as well as many friends and family, all of whom will dearly miss her.
A graduate of Mohawk College, Susan worked for more than 30 years as a well-respected X-ray/CT Technologist at the Henderson General/Juravinski Hospital.
In her younger years, Susan enjoyed playing baseball, badminton and was part of bowling leagues. In her later years, she switched to lawn bowling and enjoyed that for a number of years.
Coming from a family that loved to play games, Susan enjoyed playing card and board games and was part of a group of friends that met regularly to play Euchre for decades. Susan was an expert Crokinole player and was known to be able to get one ringer after another…much to the chagrin of those who tried to match her. She loved music, musicals, all-things-Disney, and her various figurine collections.
Susan attended Philpott Memorial Church for the past 10 years where she was baptized in 2015. Susan was an active volunteer at the church where she often helped in the kitchen and did the preparation for communion once a month prior to Covid and her devastating fall 2 years ago.
Thanks to all the staff at The Village of Wentworth Heights for their care and compassion for Susan over the past two years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Operation Smile Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
