She worked at Ford Motor Company in Oakville, driving the QEW for 37yrs to the Regional office, starting as a Key Punch Operator, then promoted to serving the Dealerships across Canada. Tamiko was a dedicated volunteer for Hamilton Japanese Culture Centre and Toronto Japanese Canadian Culture centre,Singing at concerts in both Culture Centres was her greatest enjoyment, also it was a great honour for her when asked to be M.C. Her heart and soul went into it and wearing her Kimono's gave her a chance to tell a story about Japan.
Tamiko enjoyed playing the slots with her Husband of 58 years Harry. Many friends and family were entertained with her at Ding Ho, China Palace and the Burlington Mandarin. She loved travelling to Japan, and even went to see the Russia McDonalds. Tamiko was a great hockey mom, cheering Kevin on, from Hamilton Huskies to men's leagues. Tamiko loved taking pictures, from wildlife to special events hockey and holidays. Adored by her daughter in law Margaret and son Kevin. Lots of love and much laughter when Tamiko was around. Family in B.C. and Hiroshima Japan have many fond and fun memories of their time with her and Harry. Tamiko, Aunty Tami, Bachan, Mom or Friend, everyone has a story of a good time while around her.
Her Legacy will be missed. We will be forever grateful to Doctor Singh, management team all staff at Age Care Brant Aldershot wing ,for their love and compassion they always showed her.
