She accomplished a beautiful race to heaven filled with singing, dancing, serving others, cooking, laughing and most importantly she lived a life filled with love.
Tracy was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario by her loving parents John and Jean Cartwright (Nana & Papa) with her 4 siblings Jon, Steve, Dawn and Dale. She was the cool aunt to so many nieces and nephews and the Best Mom to her two children Emily and Tommy. She cherished every minute and created a special bond with her two granddaughters Wilder and Kindred.
Tracy was a superstar as a nurse and Occupational Therapy Assistant and worked alongside so many amazing coworkers who spoke time and time again about how much of an impact she had on their lives. She spent countless hours as a Girl Guide Leader and shared her passion of camping and the outdoors.
Tracy was extremely involved with her Chedoke Church family and worked hard to ensure the church community was strong by helping run countless children’s programs like KidsROC, Family Fun Nights, weekly volleyball and church camping trips.
Tracy and music go hand in hand - she never stopped singing. She used her gift to worship God each week on Sunday mornings at Chedoke. Even after her thyroid surgery and chemo treatment she was eager to get back on stage and sing.
Tracy did not let her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer define or change her outlook on life. She was diagnosed with stage 4, pancreatic cancer in September, 2024. She beat the odds and continued to do the things she loved through the whole journey.
Tracy demonstrated all of her values in how she lived her life. She cared and loved her family so hard, she always wanted to support others to reach their full potential and always had fun no matter what she was doing. She encouraged so many people to step out of their comfort zones to be a part of something bigger than themselves and was always ready to help or volunteer when needed. Tracy’s heart impacted everyone she met.
Tracy will be so missed but her legacy will live on in each of us when we make choices to sing a little louder, dance like no one is watching and love others with all that we have.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Girl Guides to help young girls experience camping and being in the outdoors. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/in-the-gloaming-come-sing-be-merry/
