Peacefully after a courageous battle at St. Peter’s Hospital on Friday March 2, 2012 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late Josip. Loving mother of Rosemary Butera and her husband Charlie and Joe and his partner Lena. Cherished Baba of Gianni and Sophia. Vilka will be sadly missed by other family and friends in Canada and Croatia. Special thanks to the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital 3West and the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm with Vigil Prayers at 8:15 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 9:30am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. All donations in Vilka’s memory will be used for future mass intention.
