Beloved husband of Alicia Anderson for 13 wonderful years. Treasured father to Billy Anderson and proud grandfather to Brynne, Kamden, and Collin. He was a devoted stepfather to Norraine, Nathaniel, Hazel, and Joan, and a much-loved “Grampa Bill” to Connor, Kara, JD, and Keon.
William is survived by his brothers Alan Jr. and Fred (Janice), and his sisters-in-law Tammy and Sue. He was predeceased by his brothers Bob and Ronnie.
Born on June 4, 1955, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Alan L. Sr. and Doris Anderson, Bill dedicated much of his life to hard work and service. He spent many years as a truck driver and gave back to his community as a volunteer firefighter.
Bill will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and generous spirit. He was patient, humble, and deeply selfless. A loving man and a great listener, Bill faced life with quiet strength, never complaining even in the face of suffering.
As his son Billy said, “He was always just Dad to me, a good dad, and he was always there.”
In his spare time, he loved camping in his trailer, flying his drone, and spending time with his beloved dog, Po.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Juravinski Hospital and the Cancer Assistance Program for their care and support. Bill was a true fighter and faced every challenge with grace and dignity.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
