It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William at Macassa Lodge on April 5, 2015 in his 97th year. Survived by his wife Sylvia and step-daughter Vera, niece Catherine Rowlandson and her family, nephew Dennis Barchuk (Sharon), cousin Anne and her son Peter Geryluk, god-daughter Ola Lakich, her husband Chris and their children. William was a proud Veteran of the Ukrainian Army. Special thanks to the compassionate staff at Macassa Lodge for their exceptional care. Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Ukrainian Church of the Resurrection, 821 Upper Wentworth Street, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Volodymyr Cemetery in Oakville to follow.
