Dear Carrie and to your Family,

Anne & family, please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Win had retired not that many years after I joined the police service.  I did not have the pleasure of working with him as I was still too new.  My first real experience with him was after I took the treasurers position for the Hamilton Police Retirees Assoc.  He started questioning me as if to see if I could 'cut the mustard' so to speak.  I guess I did as he did not question me in the future.  Win was one of the founding members of the retirees association along with my father Robert.  One of the first things I noticed was Win did not 'command' respect. It was just a given. He will be sadly missed by all of us.

Sharon and Winston, I have many great memories of your Dad having known him since I was a teenager. I am proud that he was the father of my bride, grandfather of my daughter and great-grandfather of my grandson. His loud laugh and infectuous smile will be with me forever.

I know how much he meant to you and can't imagine the loss you must feel. Though I didn't know him personally I could tell by how you spoke of him that he meant the world to you.

 Dear Carrie,
I am sorry for your loss.  My dad, Ainslie and your grandfather Winn became great friends over the years.  I often remember as I grew up Winn dropping by the house/business and having visits with my parents.  One time when I disappeared one evening, without a word to my parents (when I was in my early teens), it was Winn that my dad called and he came over to our house to offer advice and comfort. (I showed up later, having no idea what a ruckus and worry I'd caused).  In later years Winn and Dad would go to lunch every Friday - a tradition they carried through until my Dad died.  It was Winn who introduced my Dad (a widower by then) to a lady friend while they all were in Florida - a relationship that continued til my father's death.  And it was Winn who was the last to get up and eulogize my father, when my father passed away - and I'll never forget his words.

What an absolutely great guy he was - he always lit up a room when he entered it.  

You'll miss him, but what great memories of a great man that you will have to comfort you.

grand pa was a wonderful man , I remember him following us at a street carnival to make sure nothing bad would happen. 
He was alaways ready to make the day fun for us kids weather it was taking us to baskin robbins or picking us up in unmarked police car for a sleepover at the apartment. He will be missed by all who loved and respected him.

To all of Wynn's family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Wynn.  Wynn and I knew each other before the police force; Wynn lived across the street from us on Ontario Avenue.  I remember how sharp he looked in his RHLI uniform.
I worked with him throughout all our years on the police force and remember our days in the Morality Office.  Later, my wife and I became good friends with the Webbs and entertained together often.
I am so sorry of hear of his passing.  He was a great guy.

Anne and family, we are so sorry for your loss.  Winn was a very well respected police officer and always busy retiree.  He will be sadly missed and always fondly thought of.  God bless.

My deepest condolences to you Anne and the entire Webb Family.  I began working with Win in the mid 60's as a young officer with the Hamilton Police Department and immediately recognized Win as one of the "true gentlemen" of our profession.  He moved quietly throughout his day-to-day activities and duties, never seeking recognition or glory but doing his job and helping others for the cause of good alone and because it was the right thing to do.

It is because of Win and many others who served with great courage during that period of the 1940's, that we still enjoy our great freedoms of today.  He was truly a "one in a million" guy.  I am so sorry to hear of his sudden passing.

Win, you made a huge difference in the lives of so many and your mark will be here forever,  Safe journey my friend.

I am also a retired Hamilton Police Officer.  I highly respected Winn not only for his wisdom but also for willingness to speak out when he felt something needed to be said.  There are very few like him left and he will be sadly missed. Always remember the good times and that wide smile he always showed!
