

Passed away peacefully at Shalom Village in her 89th year. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Tom and brother Ted. Devoted mother of John (Jennifer) and cherished Babcia of Alexander (Amanda), Ella and Mark. Her grandchildren were the loving focus of her life. She will be missed by her extended family in Canada, the US and Poland. Zofia worked at Bishop Ryan Secondary School for over 30 years as a cleaner where she made many close friends, especially her dear friend Ana Pocrnic. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women's League and Rosary Society at St. Stanislaus Church. Zofia was an amazing baker and cook and will be remembered for the amazing treats that came from her kitchen. Zofia loved cruise vacations, gardening and long phone chats with friends and family. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday May 13, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. to 7-9 p.m. with Rosary (in Polish) at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Polish Catholic Church, 8 Saint Ann Street, on Saturday, May 14 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to McMaster Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
