

Glimpsing the great cloud of witnesses, Arno Earlie Moore, 69, stepped peacefully into the presence of our Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born November 30, 1954 and graduated from York High School, immediately beginning his career as a business owner.
He was well-known in the community as a contractor and subcontractor drywall business owner since the early 70s.
Earl was an active member in Emergency Management Agency-Amateur radio operators (KR4MA EXTRA) and was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the state-wide Virginia Digital Emergency Network (VDEN) that provides text-based communication pathways across the state via Amateur Radio. He was also active in providing support for our Public Service Events including the Newport News Fall Festival, the Holly Dazzle, multiple Christmas parades, and others. Earl was a true mentor to new hams…an Elmer, as he was called. While he has reduced his activity recently his legacy was well established.
Earl was also an avid fan of NASCAR, traveling and attending many races. In the 70s, he was also a leader and bass/guitar player of the youth contemporary Christian worship band, Berachah, which was an outreach youth band from New Covenant Church in Hampton, Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his parents,Reynolds Earlie Moore and Ingrid Leiter Moore. Earl is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Carol Jones Moore; their children Christopher Moore (Julie) and Kirstan Moore Adair (Matthew) and grandchildren:: Dakota and Chrystal Kosch, Lana Moore; Moyra Adair,and twins Magdalena and Maxwell Adair. He is also survived by his two sisters, Pamela Sellers (Edward) and Crystal Moore Boyd (Rodney) and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 4:00PM for family and friends at New Covenant Church, 1079 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia.
