

He was born in Forest City, NC to the late James Fred and Aline Bryant.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lola Bryant; brothers, Glenn Bryant, Ray Bryant, and Max Bryant; and sister, Lois English.
Billie was a 1954 graduate of Hampton High School and received an Associates degree in Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During his career, he worked for the Weather Bureau, for a contractor at Langley Research Center in Hampton, and ultimately retiring from Newport News Savings Bank.
Billie is survived by his daughter, Tamara (Tami) Pollard and her husband Sam; three grandchildren, Robert McNeely III (Kim), April Larkin (Brian) and Sam Pollard Jr. (Beth); four great-grandchildren, Noah and Mia Larkin, Evan and Zander McNeely; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Billie loved to volunteer. While in Hampton he was a member of the Kiwanis and often volunteered for Bay Days. Once retiring to Galax, VA, he was kept busy volunteering with his church, HoustonFest and the Blue Ridge Music Center.
A graveside service will be held in Hampton at Parklawn Memorial Park on April 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm with visitation immediately following the service. A Celebration of Life Service was held in Galax on Monday April 11, 2022
