Carol was born in Ocean City, Maryland, and she worked for NASA as a cook for many years. After her retirement, she was a caretaker to numerous people in her community. Carol loved her family fiercely and extended that same love to countless others she welcomed as family. She helped others selflessly and was an unwavering source of kindness to any and all. It was not unusual to pull up extra seats at Thanksgiving for people who had nowhere else to go or to hear people from all walks of life calling her ‘Mom,’ or ‘Granny.’ Carol was active and helping others every day right up until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Alfred Taylor; her sister, Ann Lynch; the father of her two sons, Carrol Faye Watkins; her son, Daniel Keith Watkins; and her fiancé and loving companion of 32 years, Abraham David Kakalia Iaea. She is survived by her brother, Alfred Wayne Taylor; son, Michael Wayne Watkins (Karen); grandsons, Bryon Watkins (Katie Fulgham) and Aaron Miller; granddaughters, Katie Watkins, Kristina Watkins, Kasey Watkins, and Megan Miller; great-grandchildren, Reese Watkins and Oliver Roberts; her favorite niece, Glinda Ann Moses; and nieces and nephews, Sherry Hasting, Allie Hasting, Dallas Lynch and Mark Lynch.
The family will receive friends on January 10th, 2026 at 10:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
