Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Salmon, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him dearly. Born on August 6, 1937, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, Kenny later moved to Virginia, where he began his life with his devoted wife, Carolyn. Together, they created a life centered around love, family, and hard work—values that continue on through each generation.
Kenny is survived by his children, Charles “Chuck” Kenneth Salmon Jr. (Alicia), Tony Salmon, and Kurt Salmon (Coreen); his grandchildren, Kenneth Gregory Salmon (Whitney), Kaylee (Logan), Toby, Brittany, Rebecca, Brooke Bristow (Shane), and Amber Evans (Kyle); and his great-grandchildren, Grayson, Cole, Raelynn, Noah, Riley, and Abigail, who reminded him every day of the legacy of love and strength he had built. He is also survived by his siblings, June and Harry.
Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his parents, Lillian and Charles; and his siblings, Ida and Helen.
Kenny was a loyal, hardworking man who dedicated his life to caring for and supporting his family. He had a special ability to bring people together—whether through his humor, his stories, or his honest and straightforward advice. Those who knew him admired his strength, valued his wisdom, and cherished the way he could make them smile, even on difficult days. If someone needed help, Kenny was the first to show up, never hesitating to lend a hand.
As a mentor and baseball coach, Kenny shared far more than skills; he shared life lessons. He believed that if you were willing to listen and learn, he was always willing to teach. His influence stretched beyond the field and continues to live on through those he guided.
In retirement, Kenny found joy in simple pleasures—taking drives with Carolyn, spending time with family, and watching his grandchildren on the ball field or in the woods hunting. These moments brought him deep happiness and were among his most cherished times.
Kenny leaves behind a family who deeply adored him, and many friends whose lives are better for having known him. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit, his humor, and the love he gave will continue to be felt in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
