Christine Price McDowell

A native of Johnston County, NC, she was a Peninsula resident since 1945. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. McDowell; her step-daughters, Linda and Audrey; her parents, William and Ann Price; her brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Thel, and Aaron; and her sister, Irene Todd.

She is survived by her daughter, Nina Caldwell and husband Bill; step-daughter, Marilyn English; grandchildren, Katrina Hayes and husband Walt, Kimberly Bradley and husband Doug, Andy Caldwell and wife Dina; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Sarah, Jasmin, Chase, Jacob, Emily, Kyle and Jimmy.

We will remember her Godly example, her love of family and friends, and hospitality to all.

Thanks for the happy memories on the front porch swing, Christmas parties with Santa and countless family and friends to which you opened your heart and Potomac Avenue home.

A special thank you to Judy Lucas, Linda Reeves, Rebekah Bane, and beloved nieces, Nelda, Marie, Bobby, Brenda and Connie and also Dr. P.A. Hoyt for your kind compassion to our family.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 3 pm. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
