Clara Mae Suggs

Clara was a native of North Carolina and a resident of Hampton for over 50 years. She was a member of Peninsula Missionary Baptist Church. She volunteered at Sentara CarePlex Hospital and was a previous teacher at Parkview Church of God.

Clara was preceded in rest by her husband, Thomas Gilbert Suggs. She is survived by son, Ralph Suggs and wife Brenda; daughters, Wanda Smith-Englert and Rose Helen Gault and husband Norman; grandchildren, Wendy Allen, Kimberly Gailey, Kristine King, Jeri Card, Brad Suggs and Megan Horne; great-grandchildren, Ashton Allen, Colton Wyatt, Colbey Wyatt, Cynclair Wyatt, Noah Card, Joshua Card, and Miranda Card; and sisters, Betty Watts, Carol Norris, and Jackie Ward.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Clara’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 14 at Peninsula Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Suggs officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
