

Chief MSGT Raphael Jackson, age 49, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2013. He was born in Riverhead, Long Island, New York on August 7, 1963. Three months later Ray moved to Akron, Ohio where he graduated at Atwater Waterloo High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His first assignment was Dreyfus Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. He later was assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, and then Langley Air Force Base. He then transferred to Okinawa, Japan to Kadena Air Force Base. Three years later he returned to Langley Air Force Base where he finished his career on August 29th, 2010. Ray retired after 29 years of service and then pursued his teaching career as a Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. A year later he decided to run a family business at Marco's Pizza near Langley Air Force Base.
Ray was a proud father of Christopher M. Jackson, who will now take his place at the family business he owned. Survivors include his mother, Maxine Jackson; father, Crawford Jackson; and his two brothers, Kevin (Vina), retired Army, and Chris Jackson (Nicole), retired Air Force; his loving wife of 28 years, Bow; and his son, Christopher Jackson. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Langley Air Force Base Chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
