Daniel Wallace

Daniel Justin Wallace departed this life on September 28, 2022, as a result of a tragic accident near his home in Hampton. The second child of Stanley and Andrea Wallace, the world was introduced to Daniel on December 29, 1982. The beloved grandparents on both the Wallace and Luce sides of the family lived nearby, and close relationships were cultivated. It is remembered that during his grandfather Luce’s later years, Daniel faithfully accompanied him to his cancer treatments, declaring, “He is my buddy”. He was equally dutiful to his grandmothers, taking them to appointments or to lunch. Daniel attended school in Hampton. Following his formative education, he attended TNCC but discovered his time was best served in the workforce. He worked in real estate before a long foray into landscaping. More recently, however, he worked as a server/bartender in Brown Chicken Brown Cow and Venture Restaurants in downtown Hampton, and in security at CHKD in Norfolk, VA. And it is Daniel’s most recent career with these restaurants that closely line up with one of his passions. True epicurean, he would travel long distances for artisanal food and drink. Daniel gave his attention also to car appreciation, he owned a series of high-performance vehicles of which he was proud. His present car being a Dodge Challenger. To know him was also to have a familiarity with the sporty vehicles that he admired. Daniel had an omnipresent love for sports. Sports Center was a daily detail for Daniel, but any televised event featuring the Miami Dolphins, Manchester United, or the Baltimore Orioles was appointment viewing! He also enjoyed being involved in a wide variety of sports as well. Music was a noted part of Daniels’s lifestyle. He liked to turn people onto what he was listening to, his friends often were humbled by his eclectic tastes. These ranged from punk rock to blues. He liked Sublime just a little more than anything else. Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Stanley C. Wallace III; grandparents, Stanley and Nancy Wallace, Dean and Maxine Luce; and uncle, Peter Wallace. He is survived by his mother, Andrea Wallace; sister, Amanda Wallace; aunts and uncle, Cheryl Davenport, Robert and Linda Luce; and cousin, Courtney Luce. A gathering of family and friends for Daniel will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, 23666. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 514 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, 23669.
