David was and is such a blessing in my life. At a time in my life when I was a young Christian he mentored me and taught me how to walk as faithful follower of Christ. Many a day was spent on our knees praying for healing at Ebenezer Baptist church when it was so needed. He was genuine, passionate, caring and a blessed man to  have known.

We came to know the Bound’s family in 1985 while attending Phoebus Baptist Church. We continued to see David when he was ministering in Charlotte. 
The very first Sunday we attended Phoebus Baptist Church, Dave was our Sunday School teacher. His teaching that Sunday freed me from a legalistic background. He stated, “Accept someone from where they are, not where you want them to be.”
Sharon blessed us also with her council to Terry.

It has been a real honor and privilege to know, love and work with David Bounds.  When I reflect on his faithful life, I see Jesus, the humble servant. Serving the Lord, his family, the church(es), the pastors, and the community with genuine love and concern. Always esteeming other higher than himself. I am reminded of the Apostle Paul who encouraged and helped strengthen the churches, but with discernment offered wise counsel.  Other words that describe Brother Dave are meek and mild, consistent, pleasant, kind, prayerful, and hopeful.  Yes, a true reflection of Jesus and not just abounding in the works, but in the very character and nature of our Savior.  His life and his words pointed people to Jesus.  May I follow his model. We have lost a dear friend.   When David and Sharon got married their wedding was the first wedding we attended as a couple.   We will keep all of the family in our prayers 🙏 ❤️.   Heaven has gained a faithful servant of God.   He will be missed by many friends.   The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord....

Pastor Dave Bounds was one of my pastors growing up at Restoration Church. He was always kind to me and so very patient. One example of his patience was on a Sunday morning, where during a particular sermon my young boyish self decided to count how many times he said the word “vision.” I can imagine his initial excitement when a young boy runs up to him after church and tells him that he was listening to the sermon that day. He asked me what I heard, and I told him, “you said the word “vision” a lot. I counted it 48 times.” I don’t remember his exact response, but knowing him, he was gracious and kind. Many years later, I told him about that story, he and remembered. Gratefully, I got to tell him this story at a pastors lunch almost 30 years later, with both of us being fellow servants of Christ in pastoral ministry. He was just as gracious and kind. I’m also grateful his “vision”—what he sees now—is the face of our Lord Jesus Christ. He finished the race. He kept the faith. He fought the good fight. May God grant me the grace to do the same.

You all and Pastor Bounds came into my life at a time when I needed direction. I will always remember his calming presence in my life. Praying for comfort and strength as you all navigate the comings days.

I had the privilege of serving with David on staff at the SBC of Virginia.  He was a great gentleman and minster of the Lord,  He was an encouragement to me as we served together.  He will be missed.

David was such a special man.  What I remember most about David is his God given ability to remember names.  No matter how long it had been since he had seen you, he always remembered your name.   It was such a blessing that even today I try to remember how important it is to people to call them by name.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of David Bounds.
David was a friend, neighbor, and  schoolmate at Kecoughtan High 
School in Hampton. He was a very good person and always fun to
be around. I knew his future wife, Sharon, and she was very nice as well. David spoke at my father's funeral in 1990. It was perfect.
After the service, we talked for a while to catch up. There will be 
glorious reunions in Heaven when we meet again.

I met David through my attendance at Restoration Church in Hampton VA. My daughter Heather Moses is a friend of his daughter Cristina. I found him to be  a fine Christian man of the highest integrity. He is in the arms of his Savior and is safe there.                           Carl Turlington,

My family lived on Grove St. in Buckroe  on the same street as the Bounds family.   My brother went to school with David.  David was kind enough to proceed over my dad's funeral even though' he did not know him personally.  He did a wonderful goodbye for us and did this through talking to the family.  My sincere condolences to his family.
