Donald Keesee Bookman Jr.

Donald Keesee Bookman Jr., 63, of Hampton, Va went to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his children on October 7, 2021. Donald was a loving father, loyal friend, respected mentor and so much more. Donald was also known as "Snapper", "Pap Pap", "Bookie", "ODB" and "Papa B" to those who knew him. Donald retired from Virginia Natural Gas on July 1, 2019 after 41 years as a Gas Service Mechanic. Donald loved his family, friends, old antiques, log cabins, the mountains, tractors, carpentry, anything with an engine, specifically old Mopar's.

Donald was a rare old soul and forever young at heart who left an impact on everyone he crossed paths with. He was always happy, loving, kind, caring and helpful. Not only was he a father to his own two children but also a second father figure to many others. Donald's contagious laugh and comforting bear hugs will be greatly missed.

Donald is preceded in rest by his parents: father, Donald K. Bookman Sr., and mother, Nancy Vonda Bookman. Donald is survived by his children: daughter, Kimberly Lynn Bookman and son, Matthew Dillon Bookman; former spouse, Caroline June Bookman; brother, Ronald Carter Bookman; sister, Vonda Gail Bookman (Daniel Patrick O'Keefe); and close friend, Rebecca Wilson Donner.

A celebration of life service arrangements are to be announced.
